EN 14960 is the European safety standard for inflatable play equipment. If you operate inflatables commercially, it is the baseline your equipment and documentation are judged against.
What EN 14960 is
EN 14960 sets safety requirements for inflatable play equipment used commercially — bouncy castles, inflatable slides, obstacle courses and similar units. Among other things, it addresses structural design, anchoring, user height and capacity limits, blower and electrical safety, and the operating documentation that must accompany each unit.

Commercial standard vs toy-grade units
Domestic inflatables sold as toys fall under the EN 71 toy safety family, not EN 14960. Toy-grade units are designed for occasional garden use by one household — lighter materials, smaller blowers, no rental-duty documentation.
For paid operation, venues, insurers and inspection bodies expect commercial-grade equipment with EN 14960 documentation. Running toy-grade units commercially is the most common compliance mistake new rental operators make.
What to ask a manufacturer for
Ask which standard the unit is built to, what documentation is delivered with it, and how anchoring and user limits are specified. A serious manufacturer answers with model-specific documents, not a generic certificate.
